Social Media Corner
Jen Longaecker, Public Information Officer and Social Media Coordinator, MN DPS

Our winter fire hazards should be in the rearview mirror. But spring brings its own fire concerns. Here are some safety messages you can share with your communities on your social media channels.

  • Escape planning: The weather is warmer. The days are longer. Take a few minutes to develop an escape plan and practice it. Share this Facebook post or tweet, or create your own content.
  • Power out? Use flameless candles: Severe weather season is here. Do you know where your flashlights and flameless candles are? Share this Facebook post or tweet, or create your own content.

Please follow the State Fire Marshal Division on Facebook or Twitter or the Minnesota Department of Public Safety on Instagram, YouTube or Pinterest for social media messaging ideas. You can share our content or use it as a springboard for your own posts.
