2008 Public Education AwardThe 2008 Public Fire Safety Education Award for the Fire Service went to Deputy Fire Marshal Marilyn Arnlund of the Maple Grove Fire Department. Marilyn's dedication to the proposed change in the International Residential Code of requiring residential fire sprinklers was amazing. Marilyn, who is also the President of the Minnesota Residential Fire Sprinkler Coalition, spent hundreds of hours prior to the Final Action Hearings advocating for residential fire sprinklers. |

- Firefighter/Department Recognition
- Community Partner Recognition
- Civilian Recognition
Nomination criteria: Nominee has worked on development, implementation or delivery of fire & life safety programs, displaying an institutionalized value towards fire & life safety education, provided financial or other noteworthy contributions towards fire and life safety education.
Attach a one page maximum detailed explanation of the nominee’s contributions. Include date or approximate date of achievements and supportive data such as newspaper clippings, trade journal articles, supportive letters, etc.
